Thank you for contacting us, I am sorry this is not working as expected and I am happy to help!
This issue may be caused by an overzealous Intel Management Engine power saving feature. This feature attempts to turn off unused USB devices but may have undesired effects on USB devices connected to external hubs, like those used in this docking station. Dell first identified this issue and issued a fix, this can be applied to any brand of computer with a modern Intel CPU. To apply this fix please perform the following:
1) Download the patch from Dell here (
https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER03471411M/13/Dell_Dock_USB_TYPE-C_PATCH_2K0JJ_A00_SETUP_ZPE.exe ) and save to an easy to access location like the Downloads folder or Desktop
2) Right-click on the "Dell_Dock_USB_TYPE-C_PATCH_2K0JJ_A00_SETUP_ZPE.exe" file and select "Run as Administrator" to start the installation
3) Allow the software to run on the system through the Windows User Account Control window
4) Follow the on screen instructions to install the patch
5) When completed please restart the computer
Please let me know if this helps to resolve the repeating keyboard input issue and if not we can get some additional details about the affected computer(s) and keyboards and proceed from here.
Thank you,
Pat
